InterWrite Software

InterWrite
is a whiteboarding & annotation software application that can be used in conjunction with popular software program such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Internet Explorer, AutoCAD or any other CAD, graphics, business, or educational application. InterWrite enables users to write electronic whiteboard notes and to annotate—using digital ink—directly over any electronic document, engineering model, Web page, picture, or other screen image—providing the most efficient and effective way to share ideas with meeting members or students. InterWrite prepares all notes and annotated content as a sequence of images, then saves the information in a single file for easy distribution, printing, archiving or export to common formats.

InterWrite - One Software Application, Many Uses

In the Classroom - InterWrite for Education & Training
InterWrite is the most intuitive teaching aid available for engaging students in the classroom. Using InterWrite Software with the InterWrite SchoolPad or the SchoolBoard, teachers bring lessons to life by digitally making notes on the screen, highlighting important information and interacting with lesson materials. Also, lesson notes can be saved for future classes, printed or emailed to absent students.

Engineering Mark-Up/Design Reviews
InterWrite allows engineering and design professionals to manipulate, then annotate, over 2D or 3D models generated from any Computer Aided Design (CAD) application running concurrently. InterWrite provides a powerful means of combining ideas with the CAD models using the most natural of input devices, the pen. A sequence of images generated at the meeting can be created, saved, viewed, printed and subsequently e-mailed. Since the images are saved in a self-executing file, meeting participants, suppliers and other outside business partners can now all be on the same page, even if they don't have InterWrite.

InterWrite provides a natural means for technical professionals to communicate effectively with their counterparts in other departments. Now you can take images created from your sophisticated design tools and effectively share them in real time with marketing, sales and operations personnel, reducing design time and improving time to market for new product introductions.

Brainstorming
For brainstorming sessions, InterWrite allows blank note pages to be created for idea generation and note taking in up to 16 different colors. The flexible architecture and file formats of InterWrite allow note pages to be combined with other annotated materials generated from the Web, spreadsheets or any other applications. The integrated viewer allows previous material to be accessed and scrolled through so all content is immediately available to the group for review and updating in real-time.

Brainstorming sessions are made more productive through the use of electronic note taking and the ability to incorporate content from any
application in the discussions.

Presentations
The electronic annotation provided by InterWrite allows presenters using InterWrite whiteboards or wireless pads to focus the attention of the audience by annotating and highlighting on top of a slide show presentation created using a presentation application such as PowerPoint. Each of these annotations can be saved, along with the underlying image, with a single menu selection using the pen of the whiteboard or wireless pad. The pen, with dual side buttons, provides greater functionality than a standard mouse for controlling and annotating presentations. Blank notes pages can be dynamically created and integrated in the presentation at any time using InterWrite, allowing presenters to explain a concept or take down action items without affecting the flow of the presentation.

Geographic Information Systems Analysis
For data-intensive applications such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), the annotation capability provided by InterWrite allows analysis and planing around map data that was created with any Microsoft Windows-based mapping program. Emergency planning and disaster recovery are examples of applications that can benefit from participants seeing alternatives and proposals without having to operate the underlying application. Escape routes, fire lines or other area boundaries can easily be annotated on top of the existing map without affecting the integrity of the underlying data, with the results being made immediately available to colleagues via e-mail.

InterWrite's easy-to-use interface and floating toolbar enables complex information to be shared real-time in an easily accessible format. As a result, team response can be significantly enhanced and improved for a variety of situations, whether in product development, business development or emergency management.
